Ellsworth Green Plan

A Citizens' Initiative

In January 2017, the Ellsworth Garden Club launched the Green Plan process through a public forum.

A vision developed after input from residents and local leaders: make Ellsworth, Maine, a model green community.

From ponds to plastic

Green Plan volunteers lead community events, organize public forums, and research and analyze topics ranging from water quality to plastic bag ordinances (and everything in between).

Everyone is part of the Green Plan

The Green Plan welcomes community members who want to make Ellsworth, Maine, a more accessible, healthy, safe, and sustainable community.

What is a Green Plan?

By summer 2020, Green Plan volunteers will write a comprehensive set of recommendations in 10 focus areas to put Ellsworth, Maine, on the path to becoming a model green community.

These recommendations will result from the input of hundreds of citizens and numerous experts, dozens of public forums, and countless focus area meetings backed by thorough local research.
