Ellsworth is served by several public transit companies, the largest of which is Downeast Transportation. Downeast Transportation offers Monday-Friday commuter and mid-day service to Bar Harbor, Monday-Friday student commuter service to Blue Hill, a twice-a-week in-town shuttle as well as twice-a-week shopping trips to Bangor which provide riders with approximately four hours in the city. They also offer bus lines that terminate in Ellsworth.

It is our goal to work with the transit agency to increase awareness of the service, encourage and support expansion of services and create a culture in Ellsworth that embraces public transportation .
